Description
The Oktyabrsky Grand Concert Hall is a key cultural center of St. Petersburg, founded in the fall of 1967. Situated in the heart of the city, near Vosstaniya Square, this glass and sunny Saarem dolomite building beautifully complements the architectural heritage of old St. Petersburg. The project, developed under the direction of A.V. Zhuk, was conceived as a counterpart to the Kremlin Palace of Congresses and was intended to host ceremonial events, city meetings, and film screenings.
Since its opening, the Oktyabrsky Grand Concert Hall has become a true cultural hub, hosting productions from the Bolshoi, Mariinsky, and Mikhailovsky Theaters. Such outstanding choreographers as Roland Petit, Natalia Kasatkina, and Vladimir Vasiliev have worked here. Boris Eifman's legendary ballet was created in this hall. Each new performance at the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall is the result of the collaborative work of the artists and the hall's staff.
The Oktyabrsky Concert Hall consistently attracts audiences not only from St. Petersburg but from all over Russia. It has become a magnet for artists from different countries and generations, as well as for fans of various genres of contemporary and classical art.
